MASSOC Essay Writing Competition

Few months back we asked "What does being Malaysian means to you" and encouraged people to come up with a short essay based on it. Having received massive responses from Malaysians studying across the UK, and also those back home, MASSOC is proud to announce the winning writers of the essay writing competition!

Here, we share their essays hoping that their views resonate with yours.

First Prize: Yew Aun Quek

Second Prize: Yu Kit Lee, University of Sheffield

Third Prize: Fiona YJS, University College London

We had also decided to publish the work from one of the contestants, Clarrisa Chung from Durham University because the panel thought that hers is too good to be missed.
